Description: 802.1x authentication allows you to enable layer 2 network authentication controls (NAC) so that only authenticated devices plugged into that port are allowed access to internal network resources.
Introducing 802.1x authentication available on Hardware Canaries from version 3.1.9 and up. Via the configuration mode or via your Canary Console, you can supply the relevant certificates for the Canary to authenticate itself with your RADIUS server.
Note: This is only available on Hardware Canaries for now. Please contact support if you would like to see it come to other platforms.

Setup 802.1x authentication via your Canary Console
Step 1:
Login to your Canary Console
Step 2:
Navigate to your Hardware Canary and click "Configure Canary".
Step 3:
Scroll to the "802.1x authentication" section and fill in the details.
Step 4:
Click "Deploy new configuration".
Setup 802.1x authentication via your Canary Config mode
Step 1:
Boot your Hardware Canary into Config mode by restarting the Canary and holding down the button on the Canary while it reboots. The light on the Canary should go blue.
Step 2:
You can connect to the Canary using a method from here. You should be taken to a Canary Config mode setup page.
Step 3:
Scroll to the "802.1x Authentication" section and fill in the details.
Step 4:
Ensure you are logged into your Canary Console in the same browser (this will allow the Canary to easily register itself to your Canary Console).
Step 5:
Scroll down and click "Save Configuration" on your Canary Config mode setup page.
Check the status of your Canary's 802.1x authentication
Step 1:
Login to your Canary Console
Step 2:
Navigate to your Canary.
Step 3:
Check the 802.1x authentication status under "Network Services".
