Some customers require Canaries running on their Proxmox Virtual environment. Whilst we don't officially support Proxmox, the following guide will have a Canary up and running in no-time.
Grabbing the OVA from your Canary Console
Step 1: Log in to your Console
Step 2: Add New Canary
- Click the + Add icon.
- Click Add New Canary.
Click Add VMware Canary.
Step 3: Download OVA
- Click Download.
- Click OVA to begin the download.
The OVA file has now been successfully downloaded.
Creating the Canary instance in Proxmox
Step 4: Upload the OVA to Proxmox Storage
In Proxmox, select your storage location to upload the OVA to and select Upload.
Next, choose Select File, browse to your downloaded OVA, select it, and hit the Upload button.
Step 5: Import and Rename the OVA Instance
Select the OVA we've just imported and click Import:
Rename the instance to match your internal naming scheme and click Import:
Step 6: Start and Initialise the Canary Instance
Start you Canary instance. Select the instance under Virtual Machine and click Start.
The Canary will start up and reboot twice while it initialises for the first time.
Step 7: Back to the Console
On your Console, you should see a pop-up to confirm your new Canary.
Click Add Canary.
