To get started on ignore-listing you will need to obtain your private DNS domain (see Step 1). You will then use the private DNS domain and ignore-list it in OpenDNS (see Steps 2 to 5).
Step 1: Grab you Console DNS Name
Login to your Console and make a note of the Console's DNS name:
Grab the first part of the URL (in the picture above, simply grab XXXXX)
Append .cnr.io to the address obtained in (1.2) (XXXXX.cnr.io) This is your private DNS domain.
Step 2: Sign in to your OpenDNS account
Click here to Sign in to OpenDNS.
Step 3: Go to Settings
Click on the Settings tab.
Step 4: Select Your Network
Select your network from either the dropdown list found at Option 1 or click on your network's IP address in the list found at Option 2. Both options will take you to the same page.
Step 5: Add and Allow Your Private DNS Domain
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and under Manage Individual Domains you will need to :
- Select Always Allow (this will always allow the domain to communicate on the network)
- Enter the private DNS domain you obtained in (Step 1)
- Click Add Domain
You have just successfully ignored-listed your Canary Console on OpenDNS
