Congratulations on acquiring your Canary! We'll have you up and running quickly. Please follow the steps shown below.
To setup your Canary, you'll need:
- An Ethernet cable and network point.
- A MacOS workstation to configure the Canary.
- IP information for your Canary's deployment, including a DNS server that can resolve public DNS.
- Credentials for your hosted console.
1. Set up your Canary
A. Connect your Canary to your network using an Ethernet cable.
B. Power it up using any USB socket or the supplied power adapter.
C. Wait for the blue LED: Press and hold the LED button for ~15 seconds. It’ll turn purple, then blue — once it's blue, your Canary is ready to be set up.
2. Find your Canary's IP using Bluetooth
Use your workstation's Bluetooth tool to discover the Canary.
3. Surf to your Canary's IP address
In your browser, surf to the Canary's web server using the IP address seen in the Bluetooth menu.
4. Configure the Canary
Give your Canary a name and record where it'll be installed (1). Configure its IP settings (either static or DHCP), select a device personality, and save (2).

5. Register your Canary
Your configured Canary now needs to register itself with your console. Open another browser tab to your console and log in. This will allow the Canary to register automatically.

6. Deploy into production
With your Canary setup, move it to its production environment and power it up. When the status LED goes Green, the Canary is live.
