Quick Overview:
Step 1: Log in to your Console
Step 4: Enter static IP details
Step 5: Deploy the new configuration
Description: Assigning a static IP address to your Canary using the remote manager through your Canary Console.
Note: Your Canary must be online and connected to your Console.
Follow the steps below to assign a static IP to your Canary:
Step 1: Log in to your Console
Step 2: Select the Canary
Select the Canary you want to configure a static IP on.
Note: we have selected the CT-Office-01 Canary.
Step 3: Open configuration
Click on the gear icon (Configure Canary) to configure this Canary.
Step 4: Enter static IP details
Uncheck DHCP and enter the static values.
Note: Rollback Protection is enabled by default and allows your Canary to return to its last known working configurations if the wrong static values are entered (more information on Rollback Protection found here).
Step 5: Deploy the new configuration
Once you've made the IP changes, you will then need to click on Deploy new configuration.
Step 6: Confirm the update
Your static IP configuration will be pushed down to your Canary. Once it gets to 100%, your Canary will then reboot and connect back to your Console with the new configuration.
If you turned off "Rollback Protection" and your Canary does not come back online, then there has possibly been a misconfiguration, and you will need to put the Canary into Bluetooth config mode (blue LED) and reconfigure it as per the steps found here.
You're done!
