The steps below will take you through changing a local password on a Virtual Canary.

Note: The password change will only affect the local instance of your Canary and will not affect other deployments.
Note: Minimum Password requirements:
- Password must be more than 6 characters in length.
- Password must contain at least one of the following : Upper-case, Number or Special Character
- Prevents case-only variants of previous passwords (e.g., "Password123" -> "password123").
- Disallows simple rotations of patterns (e.g., "admin" -> "dmina").
- Cannot contain or be based on the username (e.g., reversed, case-altered).
Step 1:
Boot your Virtual Canary.
Step 2:
Insert the username "canary" and hit "Enter".
Step 3:
Type out the password found on your Canary Consoles and hit "Enter".
Step 4:
Select option "D" in the Main Menu to "Change Console Password".
Step 5:
Select "Yes" to confirm that you want to change the local password.
Step 6:
Enter the current credentials found in your Console. (Found here.)
Step 7:
Enter a new local password.
Step 8:
Confirm the new local password.
Step 9:
Password changed successfully.
