The steps below will take you through changing a local password on a Virtual Canary.

Note
The password change will only affect the local instance of your Canary and will not affect other deployments.

Minimum Password requirements:
- Password must be more than 6 characters in length.
- Password must contain at least one of the following : Upper-case, Number or Special Character
- Prevents case-only variants of previous passwords (e.g., "Password123" -> "password123").
- Disallows simple rotations of patterns (e.g., "admin" -> "dmina").
- Cannot contain or be based on the username (e.g., reversed, case-altered).
Step 1: Boot your Virtual Canary
Step 2: Login
Insert the username 'canary' and press Enter.
Type out the password found on your Canary Consoles and hit Enter.
Step 3: Change Password
Select option D in the Main Menu to Change Console Password.
Select Yes to confirm that you want to change the local password.
Step 4: Enter and Update Local Password
Enter the current credentials found in your Console. (Found here.)
Enter a new local password.
Confirm the new local password.
Password changed successfully.
