To get started on whitelisting you will need to obtain your private DNS domain (see Step 1). You will then use the private DNS domain and whitelist it in OpenDNS (see Steps 2 to 5).

Step 1:

1.1 Login to your console and make a note of the console's DNS name:

1.2 Grab the first part of the URL (in the picture above, simply grab XXXXX)

1.3 Append .cnr.io to the address obtained in (1.2) (XXXXX.cnr.io) This is your private DNS domain.

Step 2:

Sign into your OpenDNS account

Sign into OpenDNS

Step 3:

Click on the "Settings" tab.

Step 4:

Select your network from either the dropdown list found at Option 1 or click on your network's IP address in the list found at Option 2. Both options will take you to the same page.

Step 5:

Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and under "Manage Individual Domains" you will need to :

5.1. Select - "Always Allow" (this will always allow the domain to communicate on the network)

5.2. Enter the private DNS domain you obtained in (Step 1)

5.3. Click "ADD Domain"
