The QR Code token works by encoding a URL as a QR code. When the QR code is scanned and the URL is loaded, the Token sends an alert.
A few ideas for use include: putting the code on containers in secure locations; on your desk; or underneath your phone battery when crossing international borders.
Step 1: Log in to your Console
Step 2: Open the Canarytokens Dashboard
Select the Canarytokens tile.
Step 3: Choose the "QR Code" Token
Select the QR Code token from the list.
Step 4: Add a Descriptive Reminder
Over time, you'll have thousands of Tokens deployed all over the place. Make sure that your Reminder is as descriptive as possible, and we will remind the future you of where the token was dropped. Nothing sucks more than having a token fire an alert that reads "test" - and not knowing where you placed it.
You can optionally choose to redirect the attacker to a specific site via a Redirect Token, simply specify your preferred URL on this step.
Step 5: Download and Place Your Token
Download, copy or print the token and place it in its intended location.
Alert
An alert is triggered when the QR Code is scanned.
